Who we are.

Our vision is to see our city and the wider world transformed, breaking the student ‘Bubble’ of privilege by inspiring Christian students to seek God’s heart for social justice and releasing them to build his kingdom through advocacy, action and prayer.

We have three streams of focus: global, local and personal.

We currently work with four international charities: Tearfund, International Justice Mission, Open Doors and Christian Aid.

We encourage each other to commit to daily prayer for international injustices, we create termly prayer diaries, and we mobilise students to support various campaigns which our partner charities run over the year.

County Durham has some of the most deprived parishes in the country. Not many students know this, and fewer still seem prepared to do anything about it. We want to change this attitude, and encourage students to get involved with church outreach projects. We support local churches with missional outreach and work alongside many fantastic local charities including Durham Foodbank and the Salvation Army.

The personal stream aims to challenge, to educate and to encourage- all with the aim of getting students to care far more about issues of social injustice and crossing the chasm that divides moral opinion from moral action. Through media work, such as our blog series, we aim to encourage each other to lead radical and counter-cultural lifestyles of justice, while simultaneously providing a platform for those with a gift of writing, or speaking, or other forms of media work to use and develop those gifts in a way that blesses others and builds the kingdom.
